Would you let your SO keep love letters from exes?/why?

My boyfriend has a box of letters and note that girls wrote him in our closet. I don't look at them though he offers me to. I also haven't asked him to get rid of them, it makes me uncomfortable. Why would he need to relive those memories of we are getting serious right?

No... because I’m gonna be the odd one out here, but I also have letters I got from my ex. I also kept the jewelry he gave me, but I don’t wear it. It literally has nothing to do with me holding onto my ex, but I’m one of those weird people who see past relationships as learning and growth periods. I rarely go through it, but when I randomly do I get nostalgic. It’s weird to me, that I loved someone else once. He’s also loved others before me too, and nothing is wrong with that. 
And I’d rather bite off my fucking arm than ever get back with my ex🤢 so there’s that. but if he ever asked me to get rid of it out of respect for him, I’d swallow my sadness about it and do it because it’s not a major thing.

I have memories of my ex in a box of old stuff as well. They were a huge part of my life once and I don't wanna throw away or forget what we had. I don't love my husband any less for that reason, but I think it's fun to look through now that I'm older.

I have a box of things/letters my ex boyfriend gave me. He lives over 9,000 miles away from me and broke up due to distance. I don’t love him anymore but he saved my life by calling my dad when i was suicidal. He’s the reason I’m alive. I want to keep him in my memory and relive what he did for me even though we don’t talk anymore. Maybe your boyfriend has other reasons for “wanting to re-live a passed relationship” it’s probably not a big deal considering he’s offering you to read them and everything.

I have a box of memories and mementos from exes. Those are part of my life story. I didn’t meet my husband until I was 25. I dated before him and some of them were serious and I cared deeply for them. Just because those relationships ended doesn’t mean I hate them or want to burn the items that remind me of them. I rarely look at the box, but I do keep it.

I had a teddy and a single rose that I kept from my first love.. I didn't get rid of them til i knew me and my husband was serious.. it held alot of memories for me but me and my husband made even better ones.. so when I felt ready I got rid of them.
