Any teachers or child care workers?

Question

Who has gotten the flu shot?! I got one with my first pregnancy but opted out of it for this one. I’m starting a new job at a school next week and I’m kind of second guessing whether or not I should have gotten one. How are the teachers or moms on here who work around kids doing during flu season?

When our school offered them, I got mine. Flu is rampant this year-no way I would not get the shot, especially being pregnant.

I'm a teacher and I've never gotten the flu shot. I was pregnant last school year and still didn't take it. 
I just try to disinfect my room as much as possible.

I’m a high school teacher and also 6 months pregnant. I did NOT get the flu shot and so far have been just fine. Just be sure to take plenty of vitamins, gets rest, and wash your hands religiously and you should be fine!

I’m a high school teacher and do not get the flu shot!!! I would especially not get it while pregnant. I had my son in December of 2017 and didn’t get a flu shot and also didn’t get the flu! I know doctors are pushing it now, but the vaccine insert actually says that there is not enough info about the risks for pregnant women that are given the flu shot.

If you really want to get one, make sure to ask for the one without mercury!
I know my opinion is not the popular one! Do some research, I mean look up some studies etc. Doctors are not trained in vaccine ingredients or adverse reactions in medical school, they just know to push the shot!

There is mercury in the flu shot.. but they tell you to stay away from fish with mercury.

I do in home child care and my daughter goes to preschool 2x a week. 
I got my flu shot at 12 weeks, but my kids did not get it this year. So far we have stayed pretty healthy but now coughs and low grade fevers are going around and me and my 2.5 year old have the cough and he has a fever too.

Kindergarten teacher here and I’m 18w2d. My classroom is basically a germ factory. I don’t typically get the flu shot but doctor highly suggested it since it can be passed to baby girl and protect her as well. So I got it on Halloween and no issues since!

I don’t ever get the flu shot, unless I’m pregnant! I teach first grade, and those kids give me EVERYTHING. Thankfully, I have built a great immunity, but I’ve been sick a couple times this pregnancy (think stomach bug) and it was AWFUL. I’m glad I got my flu shot.

I have minimal exposure to kids and haven’t gotten one.  Honestly I didn’t want to get one because all this time I’ve felt so damn cruddy that I didn’t want to make myself feel any worse...even for a couple days.  But my nausea finally went away so I’m going to get one this week.  I’m 15 weeks.  I’m around kids maybe 3 times a week...not very many of them though.  But I’m also taking a trip this month so I’ll be on a plane with who knows what.
