Comfort nursing
How do i get my 3 week old off my boob for comfort nursing? Today was day 2 of trying out a pacifier. It was one of those pacis that u can put ur finger in so baby can suck & chomp on finger. He used it for a good bit...until i took my finger out & then that sucker came right out. But hes often showing feeding cues after hes just eaten & i know hes not hungry cuz hes not sucking & swallowing. Plus, if i give him to my husband to hold all feeding cues go away & he’s perfectly still & content with boobless dad. And i wait till he falls asleep & unlatch him but any position change or movement wakes him & he notices theres no boob! And starts crying.
How can i get him off my boob so i can have some time to use the bathroom? Lol
Dont get me wrong i love holding my baby but i cant even put him down on a boppy to read him a book without him crying. And the friction on my boob is too much. i dont want my baby to cry so i give him what he wants but i dont want to create a bad habit. Inknow hes only 3 weeks so right now theres no such thing as spoiling him but i just don’t know what to do. Is it just a phase & should tough it out? I’ll bring this up at our next ped appointment. Any help, advice, tips, anything! Is appreciated 😕
