Pregnancy and reproductive issues

Madilynn

Hello!

My name is Madi, I am 22 years old. I am currently not trying to get pregnant, but my fiance and I are not preventing the chance. The reason why we have decided not to use protective measures is because of my reproductive issues.

I started my period at a young age of 7 years old, developed breasts, and acne. It was really confusing to me and a difficult time since I was raised by a single father, who really had no idea what to do. I had overactive sweat glands, hormonal issues and needless to say it was a nightmare going to school and feeling different than all my friends.

Finally, my friends caught up to me in puberty and life went on. Around the age of 15-16, I began to have severe cramping that followed with migraines, vomiting, and very heavy bleeding. I was put on birth control and tried many different kinds, but nothing seemed to help.

Flash forward to the age of 21, about 5-6 years of suffering from severe pain from my periods. I finally got referred to a specialist at the university of Michigan who diagnosed me with Vulvadynia and rendered me to get exploratory surgery.

I had the surgery and found out I have Allen Masters defect which is a congenital defect that makes a hole in one of the ovaries. It was filled with endometriosis and he wanted to remove it, but I said no. I also have a septated uterus which he said could cause trouble for conceiving.

I feel very terrible that I could possibly not be able to carry a child and my partner says it’s okay we could adopt and there’s other options, but I’m feeling a whirlwind of emotions. I constantly see people having baby after baby, and posting that theyre pregnant. I feel terrible for saying this but a large part of me is jealous and furious that it is SO EASY for some people to conceive, but for us it just isn’t working.

I really could use some advice or words of encouragement that have helped you get through the struggles and disappoint of being unable to conceive.

Stay blessed,

Madi xxx
