Is this safe?

So I started to put my daughter in a sitting position on the sofa. Is it safe? My mom said i can’t do that because it might hurt her spine and her tail bone. Now i feel guilty knowing Because i have done that couple of times. She actually enjoys it. And also, I don’t sit her up 90deg angle. And i’m a ftm, so i don’t know if i’m actually hurting her or not 😭

She is completely fine. She will be learning to sit up on her own in only a few months. They even make seats that help them practice sitting up.

If she can hold her head up thats fine!!! The only wqy to hurt her is if you bind her to a chair where shes strapped and cant move her legs and hips. Apparently thats not recommended.
Free sitting on a pillow is fine.

Your baby is gorgeous!!! Is that bunny real or fake lol?! I sit my girl up like this too. She likes to sit-up and is only like this for a few minutes with me right there.

You aren’t supposed to sit them propped up before they’re ready because it doesn’t support core development but that applies more towards bumbo seats and sit me ups.  And it’s not that it hurts them, it just doesn’t support proper development.  If she wasn’t ready to sit on the couch like that then she’d flop over 😂 besides that, it’s not like you’ve sat her there for hours, it’s not hurting her, so don’t worry lol
