Considering adopting a shelter dog

We are a family of 5, 2 dogs, a cat, a horse, and chickens. We have plenty of room and are considering adopting another dog, one from a shelter that I currently have my eye on. I always liked having 2 dogs because that gave them a furry friend to play with, but I've never had 3 at one time. Am I better to stay at 2 dogs, or has anyone had 3 without (many) issues?

I’ve got three dogs along the family. Pitbull, boxer, and cavalier King Charles. They’re all rescued, it’s great lots of love. Go for it.

Aw. I wish I could adopt more but have to keep it reasonable for what we can afford. Our oldest dog is a heeler, an older man couldn't care for her anymore so we took her, the other is a jack Russell mix and she was given to us by friends out of an oops litter. I have a heeler/collie mix that I'd like to adopt. She's beautiful and reminds me so much of my heeler. I'm waiting for a response from the shelter, and if I get a thumbs up I'm going to the shelter when it opens Wednesday to adopt her. 🤞🏻 that it all goes well.

As long as you’re sure you can handle another dog on top of all the others go for it!

I currently have three large dogs and they are great! I have them and a lot of reptiles and with my boyfriend's help they are all very well taken care of.

Oh wow! We have more the farm setting with chickens and a horse, not sure how I'd do with reptiles 😄
