Anyone doing the moms on call schedule?

Baby turns 8 weeks this week so that's where we've begun. Although I KNOW I should've been doing some kind of schedule since the beginning I wasn't but now I'm ready!! Last night was our first night and it was a success. I know a lot of moms are against CIO but I'm not. Only 40 min of crying and reassuring and then he was out for the night other than a 2am feed and 5am feed. Wohoo!

nobody should be doing CIO from the beginning and 8 weeks is still too early. if they’re crying it’s for a reason. pay attention to your kids needs

I’m not against the cry it out method either. I am waiting until 5 months to start that though like I did with my daughter. I’m breastfeeding and now in the past week he has started to only sleep if I nurse him and once I lay him down he’s pissed. Last night we tried the feed, clean diaper, swaddle until almost asleep, warm bassinet and white noise machine on with dim lights and he slept just long enough for my husband and I to have sex. Then the rest of the night it was repeat until boom it’s 7 am. I’m exhausted! Going to try again tonight and hope for better results 🤞

My MIL got out little one sleeping he refused to sleep in co-sleeper moses basket even tried placing him on his blanket on floor though the day & nothing worked I was so tired.. went to visit in laws over xmas & she just lay him down on play mat with blanket after he was fed changed & winded.. kept putting his dummy in & rubbing his tummy when he cried till he settled did this throughout the day for 4 days (shes amazing) & the day we got home we put up his space saver cot & boom he went down no problem just needs to be asleep first.. only issue we have now is he loves in that much that he only sleeps the 3-4 hours between feeds in there so theres lots of up & down the stairs though the day now 😪 
So she kinda let him cry not a bad cry more of a moan cry & the first day he did this for 2 hours before going to sleep.. but by the 3rd day he just fed & then went down cried for a minute or two but that was morn he wanted his dummy I believe

I’ve used the moms on call schedules for all three of my girls. For my first I exclusively pumped and is the feeding schedule worked well, but it doesn’t work well for breastfeeding so I feed on demand for my second and third but use the MOC nap and bedtime schedules. I also don’t introduce solids or a straw cup until 6 months. Some MOC stuff is sketchy (read their toddler book section about discipline out of the house...yikes) but take what works and leave what doesn’t!
