Advice!! So my two year old and I are on government assistance as I was a single mom and working full time and her dad isn’t in the picture. Mostly it helps pay for her astronomical daycare costs. Anyway I met an amazing man and we just had a baby together. We are not married yet, my case worker told me I need to add our new baby to my case and sign an paternal absentee paper , but he is not absent? He doesn’t pay child support obviously since were in a relationship and live together. If I add her they will go after him for child support, has anyone dealt with this? I am in MA btw.. They never contacted my ex for child support since he was abusive and my therapist wrote a letter saying it would not be in my best interest. Has anyone dealt with this? I can’t be the only one.
