What is an appropriate discipline for a 15 month old? Lately it seems like we already hit the tantrum phase?! She pitches a fit when we say no and will scream and throw herself on the floor.

Usually at bedtime we rock in our chair, she drinks her bottle and then gives it to me and goes to sleep. Instead, tonight she kept trying to throw her bottle and screamed when I took it. Then she nuzzled down, acted sleepy and opened her mouth for it. As soon as I put it in her mouth she popped up, threw it and laughed. Is she old enough to have done that on purpose??

Thank you everyone for your advice! We are going to talk with her dr at her 15mo check up for strategies as well. I just didn’t expect her to display this behavior so soon. My husband and I are working on aligning our strategies so we can stay consistent. We do not believe in any form of corporal punishment such as a hand smack or spanking. We both grew up with violence and we are breaking that cycle now.

So far we’ve basically been ignoring the bad behavior and then praising every little good thing she does lol. But we do tell her NO firmly when she throws food and we don’t give it back to her for a couple min. I’m just worried she’s not eating enough!!
