My daughter is newly 1. Since 12/30 she has been sick. Started with a runny nose and a fever (102.5) New Year’s Eve I called oncall to see when I should worry. They said if it lasts more than 72 hours and/or if it is gone for 24 hours and returns with a cough. So Thursday the fever seemed to have been gone. Great! Friday 1/3 fever returns at again 102°. Called and got her an appt for Friday afternoon. Left work and took her. Doctor said she didn’t hear anything and explained a “6day curve” basically the temp at this point should get Lower and Lower

Sunday night still 101 not going down any further with Tylenol. Call in to peds this morning (day 6) and they tel me to bring her in. 101 fever still hacking cough runny nose. Doctor says she sees fluid in her right ear. Also says she’s sending us for a chest X-ray. To rule out pneumonia.

X-ray was negative (thank god) the doctor then begins to tel me she wants bloodwork tomorrow for mono. (Seriously???)

So here I am. Still sitting here with a baby with 101-102.5 fever who won’t eat. Lost 1 pound over the weekend.

Am I wrong for wanting. To go to er?

Please help. I feel like I’m failing her
