Anyone decided not to go back to work?!

Question

I’m so torn!!
I would love to go back to work as much as I’d love to stay home with my little bub. But being a stay at home mom would make more sense and who doesn’t want to be with their little one? 
So has anyone decided not to go back to work? Financially are you making it work? How? I would feel guilty not bringing in an income. But after paying for daycare I’d be bringing home $250 a month!
Just looking for opinions! I’m also an ECE so the thought of someone else looking after him would drive me nuts if it wasn’t the way I would do it or if he wasn’t doing enough during the day.

I stayed home with my first for a year, then we began to struggle a lot with our bills. They raised our rent, my husbands hours were not stable at work (one week it was 40 the next it was 30), my car broke down, etc. So I found a job and was able to get In touch with a family friend who stayed home with her son to watch my baby too. It worked out great. 
Now with my second, I could not afford to go back to work and pay for 2 kids daycare. I decided to just stay home. Within the time frame from my first to my second baby, my husband got promoted at work and got 40+ hours guaranteed! 
Do whatever makes sense to you and what you really can do. A lot of people were shaming me for going back to work with my first (after the first year) but it took a lot of Stress off of me and my husband!!

I did I talked too my husband about taking a year off before she was born and he was totally supportive he told me too take as long as I want we are doing allright financially and if anything he would take care if it. Just talk too your husband and see what he sees fit for you guys. Good luck mamma 💙

I became a SAHM. We had always talked about when we had a baby, I wouldn't go back to work. And I didn't. Just like you after daycare I would only be bringing home $200. He said he would rather me take care of our son then work to just pay someone else too.

I am a SAHM and LOVE every minute of it and thankful I did not go back to work. My husband and I talked and the little money I’d be bringing home wasn’t worth someone else seeing her first steps, crawl, words etc.  to me. We decided we could financially do it and my husband even says he likes having someone home all the time.

I always wanted to be a stay at home mom. I didn’t think it would happen because of the lifestyle we built didn’t think we would be able to keep up with it if I did work. We just bought a house this passed summer and both have car notes and a ton of other bills. But my husband has always paid all the bills. So essentially he pays all that and our mortgage (a lot more than our rent way) and my car note. But it works. And ive been home the whole 8 months. I’m super grateful. All the bill are paid. We just budget better. I also just started two businesses so we will be back to the two house hold income without me having to leave. 
I’m also lucky to have the option of taking him to my moms or sisters if I did want to get a job. Daycares are so expensive.

I’m going on 2.5 years staying home. I’ll probably go back to work when my youngest starts pre school. It’s amazing staying home. We are definitely blowing through our savings, but there is no way I’m not staying home with my babies. To me, this is the best option, yes it is exhausting, but I love being home with my girls!! I probably will not want to go back to work ever! (And mind you, I loved my job as a teacher!). You definitely have to do what works best for you and your family. And it has to work both financially and mentally for you. Good luck!!
