No insurance??

I just graduated college and of course I’m unexpectedly pregnant. Since I’m under 26 I’m still on my parents insurance, but I applied for Medicaid for the pregnancy. What do I do once my baby is born for insurance for him and I (I know my parents insurance can cover me but not my baby)? The baby’s father is out of the picture. Advice please 💋

I’m under 26 and I still use my moms and have Medicaid as secondary. By child has Medicaid as primary. I was never dropped my daughter is a year old!

I just went through this, and I believe it can vary state to state. If you're covered under your parents policy-I was, you can still get Medicaid and get state insurance for yourself and baby. You will still be eligible for coverage under your parents until you're 26 or they change the coverage/don't renew you on their coverage. Your child is only eligible for state insurance under your Medicaid plan. Myself and both my kids are covered with medicaid now, but at the beginning, I was using the medicaid as secondary for myself because I was on my parents insurance. They termed that plan, so now we all use my medicaid plan as primary.

You will be dropped from your parents once you have baby because you will no longer be a dependent. Medicaid will probably cover you depending on your income
