My husband and I were casually trying to get pregnant, but last night was my first positive test. Apparently that means I’m already like 5 weeks along?!

I already have an appointment to see my regular gynecologist because I told her our plans and she had me working to get my thyroid down (fine numbers normally, slightly high for pregnancy). I don’t know if I need to phone them and tell them ahead or not because I’m seeing them in three days. Husband says I should, but I’m not sure.

It does not feel real yet. It probably won’t until we tell our parents. I’m waiting until after the appointment at least just so I can make sure it’s real (though false positives are really rare, right?)

I know like 5 other women who are pregnant, mostly due in the coming Spring. I’m a crocheter, so I’ve been making and giving out baby presents.

Baby Oliver (above) is due just before St. Patrick’s day.

I bet this means I’m gonna end up being a nester. We already have a last-hurrah trip to Disney World planned for next month, so the friends were going with Will probably be among the first non-family members to know.

How do I wait? I’m so impatient!
