Does it offend you when a Preschool teacher calls themselves a "Teacher"?

I work in a preschool as the lead teacher. I never went to school for early learning but got my training hands on. I've always wondered if teachers who went through college find it offensive or that I (or other preschool teachers) haven't quite earned the title.

No way!! You ARE a teacher!! You’re teaching those little ones foundational skills that prepare them for life!! PLEASE call yourself a teacher!

I worked in a chain daycare while in college and searching for a position in my field. I think that many preschool teachers have the passion and skill to be considered teachers.  However in my experience, the corporate machine, lack of professional development opportunities, insufficient pay, and poor support kept many preschool teachers from thriving. I think there needs to be a major upheaval to support the individuals who do this important job.
