How did you decide to have a third baby?

Hi all,
I always wanted to be a mum of two, always planned to be a mum of two. But now I have two kids I’m struggling to accept the fact that I am done.
My other mum friends have already given away their newborn clothes, I’m holding onto mine. They know they’re done and are relieved, I’m still not ready to say goodbye to possibly having another.
Even Hubby has said he wouldn’t mind having another.
We have decided to wait until our little one is two (currently 5 months) before we officially make a decision. 
But I’m curious, how did you decide you wanted a third? Was it something you had always planned or are you like me and it was unexpected?
Edit: Also did gender play a role? I have one of each so it’s not influencing our decision at all.

My husband and i always talked 3 but after having a boy and a girl we kinda went back and forth thinking it would be so good to be done and then other times thinking we should have another. I was very torn about it all for some time but my husband and i decided in 10 years we might look back and regret not having a 3rd but we would never regret having another child. So here i am 31 weeks with baby number 3

I had a friend who had 2 kids, a boy and a girl, right around when I had my two. When we genetically talked about the possibility of a 3rd she said they weren’t going to try for a 3rd because her heart felt full and she didn’t ache for another. That really helped me realize how bad I did want a 3rd. Yes, my heart is SO happy with two, but I was aching!

Our 3rd was a surprise pregnancy. We weren’t actively trying, or using proper birth control ( pull out method) but this will be our last and it is a very exciting time for me after I got all the emotions out at first. We were on the fence for a third and hadn’t discussed it and it just kinda happened.

I always planned on having four. I wanted my first two to be between 18-24 months apart. They're 21 months apart. 
I wanted my third to be born a little after my first started school. However, s/he's decided that's too long to wait and surprised me. So my first two are 21 months apart and my 2nd and 3rd will be 22 months apart. 
So, I did plan on a third... but I did not plan on him/her to be so early. They're about 3 years ahead of schedule.

My age and the gender was my main thing. I don't want to have anymore kids after 30 and I was hoping to get pregnant before I aged out of my parents insurance. I'll be 25 in May and I'm 27 weeks pregnant! We've got two boys and I've always wanted a girl which is what we're having this time around. I'm glad to be done at an early age because they'll be mostly grown up by the time I hit my early 40s.

We always wanted three kids so it was just natural for us to have three. Everyone is different and if we were younger we probably would have had more kids. If you and your SO feel the need or want to have another I’d say go for it!

I was in the exact same boat. Knew I wanted 2 but then just couldn’t let go of baby stuff after 2. Hubby only wanted one and had agreed to 2 so figured he’d never agree to a third. Well after having horrible side effects with my hormonal birth control I stopped it and randomly he said no protection, if we have a third we have a third.  I was so excited and we both just knew it felt right but agreed it was only if it happened that month and we wouldn’t try to get pregnant. Here I am due in a month with baby 3.  Hormones, coincidence or roll of the dice? Not sure what got us here but glad it did.  This has been a horrible pregnancy but so worth it to see baby soon.  And I feel totally done now.  I know I can’t handle 4 and am excited to see our 3 kids grow up together.

I got pregnant. 😂😂😂 We wanted more but had just had the convo about waiting and spacing babies out a little more. I was already pregnant when we had that talk. 🙈
Just had #3 a month ago. It’s crazy but fun. 3 kids 3 and under. 😳

We had decided to get rid of all our stuff and talk about either getting fixed or having our third and last in 3 years. A couple months after getting rid of the last of our baby stuff we found out i was 9 weeks, pregnant on birth control again 😅

I have three kids. Youngest being 18 months. Oldest being 9. And we’re starting next month for our last and final baby. I have three girls and hope for that boy. I know four will be enough for me!
