Birth control after c-section

So I had my two week postpartum appointment today and everything went well. However when I asked the doctor about birth control he said I can talk to the doctor about it at my 6 week checkup. Why I have to wait that long to start I have no idea since I had a c section with no complications and I’m healing fine! I contacted Planned Parenthood’s text line and they said it’s safe to start birth control 3 weeks after birth. I may just go there and get my birth control. Anyone else have this problem?
