Is it normal for babies to fail hearing test??

I was induced at 36 weeks 3 days due to preeclampsia. They just did my babies first hearing test and she failed. They said that it is completely normal for babies to fail the first test however I'm freaking out!! Did this happen to you??

Yep! My daughter failed her first one. They did it again before we left the hospital and she passed with flying colors!

Yes, my son failed his at the hospital as they took it while he was eating and said there was too much noise.  Went at 1.5 weeks old to get it done again and he passed with no issues

I hear this could be due to fluid build up in the ears and sinuses. Usually clears up within a week or so and babies then pass. Try not to worry mama.

Yes due to fluid filled ears . After all they have been I. Fluid for ages lol . My middle and my 3rd did this. My middle failed 2 and has perfect tears at 9. My son failed his first one but past the second one. They do the first then 24 hours hey did their second one

Yes my son failed his in one of his ears, we had to go back for another test when he was a week or so old, and he passed! They told me the same thing, that it’s normal for them not to pass the first time but he was my first child so of course I was freaking out 😫but it all ended up being ok!!
