When to take LO to er

What temperature does it have to be to take them to the Er? My Lo was 99.1 and I did it rectal. She’s also been coughing and is congested

100.4 is considered a temperature. But even then I wouldn’t think they would do much at the ER. It’s tough when they are sick because you just want to take it away!

My daughter got a very bad virus that her rectal temperature was 104 sometimes even 105 & I kept taking her in and they just told me to keep giving her Tylenol and Motrin (alternating) & her antibiotic (she had double ear infection) & we did a Bosnian tradition where you put room temperature apple cider vinegar on the babies feet. Soak a pair of socks in there and put them on the babies feet & then put dry socks over top & the ACV pulls the fever down to the feet from the head. It’s a home remedy women did back in the day when their kids had fevers so the fever doesn’t damage the brain. Hope LO feels better soon ❤️

i wouldn't go to the hospital u less it passes 104.. and no tylenol. that just depletes the body of gluthothione

My girl just had a low grade fever for 2 days. It ranged between 99-100. Our pediatrician said not to be concerned. Just keep breastfeeding, and offering water. Let her rest. If she starts acting out of sorts you could call your pedi for advice. But ours said that a fever is good. Its their body fighting infection! She said not to give any fever reducer unless it got to 101. And it never did.

You can also try cold washcloth on the head.

Mine has gotten up to 104, I called my on call drs office and they said give Tylenol and cool bath. It’s more important if they change become lethargic, vomiting, your mom gut tells you to go. But call your pediatrician they will tell you when you should go or what to look for!

I had to take my daughter to the ER when she spiked 105 rectally. Scariest night of my life. She was crying and shaking in a hot bath. Thankfully she was fine. A bad combo of teething and cold fever. 
From what I've been told by my pediatrician usually anything over 104 in under a year is deemed a trip to the ER

The ER would likely do nothing for you except expose your baby to potentially worse bacteria/viruses, etc. Alternate Tylenol and Motrin for fever control and general comfort. Ensure they are still eating and drinking, a little decreased appetite is normal. Do steam for congestion and as much as they hate it, nasal suction will help a bunch. Use saline squirts and then nose frida.
