Help me please. What age would be best to take a road trip vacation with baby, in your opinion?

Planning my families yearly vacation and have no idea when would be the best time to go.. when my oldest was a baby we never traveled so I’ve never done this w a baby before.. I breastfeed so if any of you have travelled with a baby or plan to. When do you think is best? We’ll drive 7 hours away & the vacation will last 5 days. Thank you

I think any age is fine. I don’t think there is any reason to wait until 5 months. I just think you can only go 1-2 hours or so at a clip with the baby in the car seat though.

Took our 7 week old on a 6 hour car ride and he slept most of the way we stopped to feed once!

I had my daughter November 20th and I had her in manitoba at 5 weeks old I drove her down to British Columbia where I live. 12 hour drive

My LO is 7weeks and we’re going on a 3 1/2 hour ride to WDW tomorrow morning. I’ll feed her two boob fulls before we go and make a stop when she wakes up. If she doesn’t I’ll try to get there without stopping.

We took my daughter on a car trip that took about 12 hours with stops (would have probably been about 9 hours no stops) when she was 10 months. It's a little hard to get your kid exercise when they're crawling and you don't have a guaranteed clean safe place to put them down. At 5 months they're a lot less mobile and easier to keep track of, and stuff needs to be less baby proof, so I'd go with that if you can. Otherwise I'd wait as long as possible so maybe the kid is at least cruising.

My oldest was walking by 9 months so holding him down in a car that long would’ve been disastrous. When they are younger to me it seems easier. We just went on a vacation with my LO for Christmas. We flew so it was definitely easier. What was supposed to be a 4 day vacation turned into 8 (our flight got canceled due to snow🙄). He’s breastfed.  
If you leave at night when they are older I feel you’ll have better luck as they will sleep most of the way. 7 hours isn’t too bad

Just took a 11 he road trip when my son was 8 weeks old. It was easier than I thought.
