Birth plan... are you doing one?

FTM here, and was wondering about birth plans... are they necessary? I’ve always said I didn’t want to do a birth plan because the way I see it, it’s probably not going to go to plan! But I have a general idea about medications, c-section ect.... should I bother doing one just incase? I’m kinda just leaning towards going with the flow but I’m unsure 😐 photo of my 23 week bump for attention 😂😂

It doesn't hurt :) i will be doing one. Lots of easy templates online. Plus, hubby forgets a lot so it'll be written down for everyone

I have made a birth plan through something called motherboard. My doula uses it with all her clients. I have a vaginal birth board and a c section board. Once I'm done filling it out i can add her to it and i can also add my obgyn to it as well.

My plan was "get the baby out." I had a home birth, but had a feeling things would move quickly so there wasn't really time for a plan. It did, and my midwife was only there 20 minutes before he was born. There were some things i didn't even think about, my midwife just did them, like immediate skin to skin and delayed cord clamping. She asked my husband in the moment if he wanted to cut the cord. She prepared me for of we ended up transfering to a hospital, but if we did it would be an emergency so I didn't think I'd really have much say at that point anyway.

I'm feeling the same. I think I'll write down some general things so I have it laid out for myself, husband and my doula, but not necessarily going to give it to the nurses.

I didn't have one with my first and to be honest if I had one it would have gone right out the window. My first was complicated so my doctor knows all of this (she did not deliver him) and we have a few alternatives in place because it is all very up in the air and a wait and see situation.

All that was on mine with my first was what medications I did not want and things like I wanted skin to skin, husband to cut the cord etc. 
I think you’re wise to acknowledge that it’s unlikely to go to plan, I know of ladies who’ve had really specific birth plans and really struggled with feeling out of control when it didn’t match what they had set on x

I never wrote anything out but when I went in to have my babies the nurses did ask some questions to determine what I did or didn't want. 
No meds (at least not right away)
Immediate skin to skin
Hubby cuts cord
No continuous monitoring baby(want to be able to move around)

My plan is to get to the hospital. From there, whatever is best for baby and me. I delivered my first vaginally and would ideally like to do the same this time around, but I won't be opposed to a C-section if it's better for baby. 
With #1 I was set on not getting an epidural, but I did not handle the pain well and was vomiting so I ultimately decided it would be a good idea so I could focus on laboring rather than trying not to be sick lol. 
I didn't write anything down but my SO and I have talked about our preferences.

Nope. All I know is I don’t want an epidural if at all possible.

I’m going to do one and mainly do it for my childs father to know what to tell them if I’m not in the mood to talk, or not feeling well. Also Incase of emergency and for some reason they need answers immediately and I cannot (high risk pregnancy), I’ll want him prepared of how I’d like things done etc.
