different religions...but i’m in love
well basically my s/o is a bm18 (muslim) and I’m an af17 (christian) so apart from different religions we are also different races. Ive been with him for almost a year now as “serious without title” but had just recently started being official it was both our choice for us to wait a while before dating so he could focus on school and whilst I was preparing my self for him to meet my family which didn’t go as plan but he did.
I’ve never loved anyone this much in my life he is my first love. my first “I love you” ever l, I had never said it to anyone else so it was very special.
the problem is that with our religion it’s always a closed topic to talk about between him and I because every time I try talking about it he always says “that’s for the future and we’re too young” when it gets serious .
I don’t know wither to agree and to stop talking about it and wait for the future like he says but I’m afraid that if we do talk about it again in the future and our religion differences gets to the best of us I’ve “waisted” (don’t know a better word for it) our time.
I’m super happy with my relationship but I’m an over thinker and try to go with the flow but it’s always on my head. You guys might be thinking what about the religion differences I’m talking about so... here it is
•marriage on how we’re gonna get married by church or smth else (my family approves of him excluding my dad it’s a different story...but only wants one way of marriage and it’s the Christian way they r very understanding and religious but would never let me change religions or get married any other way)
•if we do have kids what religion we’re gonna raise them into (we once were in the car again talking about our religion and somehow was talking about kids and I said “well I wanna raise my kids up the Christian way” then he continues to say he wants to raise his kids like my cousin (who is muslim since I have most muslim family members)
And I just don’t know what to do either to leave it or talk to him about it? helppp
P.s thanks for reading this if u stayed this long god bless
