So I was cleaning my 6 year old daughters backpack. I was looking at all her cute drawing of rainbows, purses and dresses and her work from school. I found a weird creepy drawing I asked het nicely what it was and she statted crying saying I was going to get mad at her. I calmly asked her what it was because she never draws things like that. She then told me its a picture of a monster with blood and a knife. I didnt yell at her or anything but I was upset so I told her she was bot going to be able to use electronics for a while that it was bot age appropiate and that she would have gotten into trouble if her teachers saw that. She told me one of her friends told her she was gonna make a creepy drawing for her so she was gonna do the same. My daughter said I didnt think it was that bad. She gets scared really easily so I asked her why she would want to do that if she knows she gets scared easily and that she could have told the other little girl she didnt want creepy drawings and they could draw something else. I told her thank you for telling me the truth I appreciate it but make better choices next time okay. Did I over react?
