For sure. My midwife says these are always her favorite appointments because deciding to have this appointment is literally the first decision you’re making as a “parent” (before you become a parent, of course) and going in to speak with a professional is the responsible choice

If you have anything but a 100% normal health history it’s a good idea.

Not with my gyno, but with my gp. Had blood work done and got up to date with Pap smear

I tried but it was an epic fail. I was young and the doctor thought I wanted birth control. She didn’t even do anything just said come back in a year if it hasn’t happened yet. No tips, no nothing. I got pregnant 5 months later and switched doctors.

Yup I wanted my doctor on board from the start and ready to help us conceive if needed.

Yes and am happy I did!  He did a few blood panels to make sure I was healthy to conceive and answered a lot of questions I had going in.
