Moving to own room?

Question

Has anyone moved their little one to their own room for bedtime? I’m not ready, 😫 but husband thinks otherwise🙄. Need some input, 1st time parents.
Thanks for all the feedback everyone! Y’all helped me feel a better about moving her to her own room soon! 😁

My daughter has been in her own room since she was 5 months. She sleeps the entire night and we just recently took her crib rail down.

She is still in a crib in our room.  I’d like to do a trial of moving her in the next while to see if she sleeps any better but because she’s still up so much at night I find it easier to have her in with me.

I was apprehensive about moving our son but about three months ago I started to NEED more room in bed because I was entering my third trimester shortly. So we did, he didn't let me settle him at night in his own cot in his own room but about two weeks after that first night of trying, he sleeps way better on his own and actually sleeps through the night now whereas he'd wake several times when he was with us. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Guess he was more ready than his mama 😂 haha

We moved her out of our bed and into her own room around 14 months. I was ready to sleep better (we were up seriously 6-8 times per night) but not ready to be away from her.. let me tell you.. BEST decision ever. She sleeps better and so do I! She now puts herself to sleep at 7:30 and sleeps until 6:45. If she wakes in the middle of the night she looks at her “okay to wake” clock (best invention ever), sees that it is still night time and goes back to sleep. It took about 6 weeks for her to stop calling out for us at least once a night and we would respond immediately. Now that we are on the other side of that I wish we would have done it sooner. Good luck! It’s not an easy transition and do what feels right for you!

My son has slept in his own room since he was about 2 or 3 months old. Though, every child and parent has different needs and if you feel as if it's too early then I say trust your gut.

Our daughter started napping in her own room in a packnplay at 9 months. We got her a floor bed (twin mattress on the floor) in her room just before she turned 1. She has been napping there and starts each night there, but she still wakes and nurses throughout the night. Sometimes I nurse her in her bed. Sometimes she just gets up and comes to our bed. She ends up in our bed by each morning. It is nice for my husband and I to have a little time alone in our bedroom at the end of the evening.
