Did anyone color their hair during the IVF process?

I’m having my egg retrieval this weekend most likely. I keep meaning to ask my nurse but I always forget. I have naturally reddish brown hair and I have colored it black for years. I was hoping to do my roots in between my egg retrieval and my frozen transfer. Anyone color their hair during IVF or is that a no no?

I didn't.  But I totally would have.  I just happened to plan my hair being done right before i started stims (otherwise, i would have had no problem doing it in between). Then i planned my Botox two days before my fresh transfer in case it took and i wouldn't be able to get it for a while😋

There’s no real evidence that it’s harmful, but the advice to me from a doctor has been to avoid coloring hair in the first trimester. So I timed my coloring to be a few days before my FET and will be coloring again now that I’m in my second trimester. I think if you time if a few days before retrieval or a few days after you should be fine. I was told not to use any perfumes or scented soaps or anything right before retrieval, so I’d put hair dye in that category just to be on the safe side. But again, I think it’s just a precaution because there’s no proof that it’s harmful as far as I know.

No but I got Japanese permanent hair straightening which is probably worse. Everything turned out fine and I’m currently 20 weeks.

My RE didn’t say anything about it and my OB told me I can dye my hair and get my nails done as much as I want regardless of the trimester I’m in.
