We’ve always taken showers with my son because it’s easier than a bath. He’s getting better at washing his own hair, face, and body now so it saves us time and water, but I’m wondering when it’s inappropriate to continue showering with him? I just saw something pop up about this on babycenter.com, but before seeing that article I never even thought twice about it because it’s what works for our family right now. Both my husband and I take turns showering with him depending on the day, but he doesn’t even pay attention to our naked bodies at all because it’s normal for him at this point. He loves taking showers before bed and if we don’t do it soon enough he’ll strip down naked and stand in front of the shower waiting for us to turn the water on. Does anyone have any insight about when it’s no longer appropriate for your child to see you naked? Obviously we won’t do this forever, but hopefully he’ll get big enough for us to trust him alone in the shower.
