15 weeks with twins and had only 1 ultrasound at 8 weeks, is this odd?

I thought with twins I would have an ultrasound every appointment

With my Di/Di twins, I have had ultrasounds at 12, 20, 28, and 32 weeks. After 32 weeks I get them weekly until delivery.

It probably depends on your doctor. I had one at every appointment (but I only had appointments once a month at that stage). But usually they would offer you a scan at 12 weeks to check for risk of Down’s syndrome and things like that - the nuchal translucency scan. You can only get it around 12 weeks.

I started having one per month at 18 weeks with my DZ twins. I had 2 before that ar 7w5d to confirm pregnancy and then again at 12w to hear individual heartbeats. I am now at one every 3 weeks at 28w and will be one every other week starting at 30 weeks I believe.

I’m currently 9 weeks, I had my first US at 6 weeks, my second one yesterday and I go back in 3 weeks for another one thus far. I’m also having di/di twins

Every appointment I go to I get a ultrasound from 7 weeks on up I’m currently 31 weeks!

I am also 15 weeks with twins (Di/Di), live in Canada and I’ve only had one ultrasound with the high risk team (had a dating one before that at 10.5 where we found out there were two babies, and the next one with the high risk ultrasound is at 22 weeks). I actually haven’t even been seen by a doctor yet, I’m on the waitlist and told they’re going to call me when one is available... 🤷‍♀️ lol.

So I live near San Francisco California and I have had an ultrasound sound every 4 weeks with my Gynecologist as well as ultrasounds with Prenatal doc ever two weeks after 14 weeks to check cervix length. As well as seeing a high risk doc. This is considered standard for multiples. I would assume that other doctors wouldn’t have as many appointments but I do feel like a perhaps an appointment around 12 weeks would have been a bit more standard.
