Can 4 year old go off reading in a Jeep?

Question

Our close friend has a Jeep he’s decked out and he frequently goes mudding and off roading. This weekend we’re going with him and some Jeep group to go off roading. We live in Florida so land is relatively flat, and we would strap her in her car seat. She’s really into cars and racing and monster trucks, so I’m wondering if it’s safe to bring her? We know nothing about off roading except to hold onto something.

I would get a babysitter that way you have relax and have a little fun together.

That seems like a huge risk. Even strapped in they could hit their head or injure their neck. Doesn’t seem like it’s be worth the risk in my opinion.

I personally wouldn't. What if you guys were to get into an accident or roll it and cannot get her out? Not trying to scar you but you gotta be realistic. Plus usually when people go off roading they are drinking at the same time. Not a place for a kid to be at.

My son goes riding in the side by side. He LOVES it. He is in a car seat the whole time and wears a helmet. This is us parked. So I'll be the odd one out. We keep on trails and don't do anything crazy with him riding and my entire family has been riding off-road our whole lives it's the way of life for us. Do what your comfortable with and just make sure she's safe.

When I was growing up I always went out with my dad and uncles riding through the mud in jeeps and side by sides and on four wheelers. They never got super crazy when I was little and nothing ever happened. it’s your choice what you do though.

It depends on the trails, but I think generally flat trails are just fine, as long as the Jeep has doors and a roll cage in the rare instance that something happened. Car seat of course, and wouldn’t do anything risky or crazy of course, but driving slowly on a trail road and going through some puddles sounds fun and relatively safe if you ask Me.

I wouldn't. Maybe find a slow, dirt back road and take her for a drive there instead? Keeps are fun, but for the sake of her spine, wait until she's a little older to bounce around.
