Toddler & Infant Rooming Together?

Hey ladies... wondering if any moms on here have already had your second and might have an opinion or experience to share. 
What's the best rooming arrangement for a toddler and infant? We have a 3 bedroom house. Currently our toddler has her own room and the spare bedroom is an office/catch-all. Should we...
1) Set up a nursery and let our toddler keep her room?
2) Make one room a play room and then have the kids share the other room for sleep once baby is grown out of the cosleeper? Or 
3) Is it fine to have them share a room and keep our spare bedroom as an office?

I have a 2.5 year old and 1 year old, and while I do plan for them to eventually share a room - they are not ready. 
I would absolutely never put a child under a year old in a room with a toddler for safety reasons. Even when toddlers are trying to be “helpful” they could harm baby (climbing in the crib with baby, trying to get baby out of the crib, giving baby a pillow or blanket, etc.) not understanding that these things aren’t safe. 
We keep all our babies in our room for the first year so they would never share under a year anyways, but even at a year old, with my older one being 2.5 I felt they weren’t ready. I made a little space in the playroom and put my younger son’s crib in there. (Btw I don’t think a playroom is necessary if you want to keep your office, but then I would suggest keeping baby in your room for at least a year, or longer depending on the age/maturity/understanding of your toddler)

We just moved out toddler into our spare bedroom and made a big deal about her choosing colors and decorations for her “big girl room.” Her bed is our spare full sized bed, so we can still use that if we have guests.

We also had 3 rooms with one for our toddler, one for us, and an office/catch all room. Our 2nd slept in a pack-n-play in our room for the first 6 months, then in a crib in the extra room for 3 months while still training to sleep through the night, then with my almost 3 year old. They are almost 2 and 4 now and have shared for almost a year. It has worked well!

I’d think it be better to keep them apart. A toddler can be easily jealous and may not be malicious, but can hurt a baby. I think worse case, but some adults can’t handle incessant crying and sleep deprivation, I wouldn’t wanna have a small kid deal with that

My oldest will be 6 when this one is born, so not a toddler, but we are in the same type of rooming situation. For the first few months, baby will be in our room, then the plan is for them to share a room, at least until we are able to move in a couple of years.

Honestly I'd keep them apart, my daughter(4yrs old) & my son(2yrs old) share a room right now but seem to always wake each other up at different hours of the night. Plus my daughter's getting older & I think it'll be nice if she had her own big girl room back. We're moving in a few months & cannot wait to get them into their own rooms!

I think it really depends on the age. My kids are 2.5 and 1 year old.  They shared for a little while but some things happened and now they each have their own room. To me a toddler is not trustworthy even with a camera. They don’t know how to be gentle or reason out their actions. She would get out the bed and go to the crib to take the baby’s lovey. There was some jealousy issues. Some nights they laughed and babbled for way too long. They sleep so much better apart and they have peace from each other. Also, I know my youngest is safe bc she can’t quite fight for herself yet.
