Getting rid of night breastfeedings - how?

Natalia

I had been breastfeeding my baby throughout the night up until last 2-3 weeks . Now that we sleep trained her and she sleeps longer stretches I need to somehow manage my milk supply in a way that I don’t get engorged during the night but still have enough for the day. How do I do that? I’ve been pumping right before going to bed at ~10pm and giving her that milk once out of a bottle once at night (as opposed to countless breastfeedings before). But then she wakes up at 6 am or 6.30 am, it’s way too long since the last pumping and I feel super uncomfortable by that time. Is it just that my body needs some time to adjust and stop producing as much during the night? Or do I have to pump in the middle of the night? The most I can go without pumping before it gets too uncomfortable is 6 hours. Please share your stories and best practices! 🙏
