Penile bleeding

My SO and I were having sex and when done, I wiped and there was a decent amount of blood. I was really confused because my period ended 6 days ago.

My SO had asked me if I was okay just before this cause he thought he hurt me at one point (short non rough sex just bad angle). So he checked himself and its him bleeding from his head. Like inside..

Can this just be a simple non concerning sex injury or should get go get seen?
