When did you decide?

Question

How and when did you decide to start expanding your family? Did it just happen and you had to go with the flow, did something happen that made you say okay lets try whether it be conceiving or adopting... alot of people have told me you'll never be truly ready.. you just want it and go after it?
I feel like I need a few years to get my stuff in the bag.. im just wondering when you felt like you were ready? Also with adopting.. where did you start?

My husband and I got married a year and a half ago but we had been together for five years before that. He was 31 and I was 30. Soon after we got married (September 2018) we decided to go to burningman as our “honeymoon” in August 2019. I didn’t want to get pregnant before that, obviously, so we kinda just threw it out that we’d start trying after burningman. Since it was like 8 months away it wasn’t hard to say that. 
I remember driving back from burningman and saying to my husband... remember what we said we’d do after burningman? And he was like yes... we had a few talks about it after we got back and we were both on the fence because it wasn’t really a good time. But I decided to stop taking my pills when the pill pack ended because I’d need to go in for a yearly checkup to get more. Then I started tracking my period and ovulation.
The first cycle off BC we didn’t get pregnant but the second cycle we did! It happened faster than I expected! But not at 14 weeks pregnant I’m really glad we did it when we did and that it happened quickly!
I’d say I knew I were ready to start trying once I felt like I did something that I felt would be really hard to do with a kid, like go party in the desert for a week lol. I feel like it was one last hurrah before I was committing to not drinking for a pregnancy. I’m not sure when I felt like I could manage being a mom, and I’m not sure I’m there now, but I think I’m at a point in my life where I know I can put a child’s needs above my own. I think that’s most important.
