My toddler is a handful. He has an insane amount of energy, and doesn’t play by himself at 2. He is obsessed with vacuuming and mowing and will do it for hours and hours and won’t stop asking. It’s not like he throws a tantrum, he just begs and begs and begs incessantly. It’s like this everyday of the week. All day Tuesday, Wednesday, and today it’s the same thing. He won’t play by himself when I’m home. When his dad his home he plays independently. But not with me.

Today we played baseball, dinosaurs, played with baby dolls, mowed the yard 3 times despite it being cold, vacuumed 4 times, cooked, and it wasn’t enough. With the mowing, I mow the real mower and he pushes his next to me. Same with vacuuming. It’s non stop. I’m so tired.

I am a doctorate student, working part time, and 5 months pregnant. I lost my temper. I was cooking and he came to try and push me in the direction he wanted to go, and I accidentally cut my finger. I lost my temper and told him to go away and leave me alone for five minutes.

I feel so bad. I hate myself. It broke his heart and he was inconsolable. What do I do?
