Transitioning to sippy cups

Lesha

So I have been trying for the longest time to get my son who is now two years old to drink out of a sippy cups. He absolutely refuses. He’s taken a few drinks out of a cup but then that’s it. I’ve tried different cups but nothing works I’ve tried only putting water in bottles and milk in his cup and that doesn’t work. Anyone have any suggestions?

Just throw out the bottles. Give a sippy cup and nothing else. He will drink it when he’s thirsty enough. And at this point most of his nutrition should be coming from food not milk so if he drinks a little less for a few days he will be fine. My daughter has been in a sippy for over a year now and I’m starting to transition her to a regular cup.

Instead of forcing a sippy cup at this point, maybe think about going to cups. It’s a lot of mess at first. And constant reminders to go slowly when tipping up and actually setting the cup down instead of dropping it. Maybe by bypassing the sippy, you can save yourself another struggle ahead! Haha 😆

My little girl likes the munchkin 360 but also a sports bottle I think it’s by nuk so the plastic bit is soft. Might be worth a try.

I would try a straw.

We got rid of bottles at one and started with the 360 cups. He did well on them. Have you tried the Nuk ones that are almost like a bottle with soft nipple but shaped differently? If none of the dozens they have work i’d just ditch cold turkey. We are on to cups unless we are out of the home at this point and he likes feeling big. Just can be messy 😩 good luck mama you got this 💕
