Tampons: Flush or garbage can?

My fiancé has pestered me about how I should not flush tampons and need to throw them in the garbage. I sometimes have a heavy flow and can't help but think "seriously, do you know how messy that could potentially be?" So I have just always flushed them. But I wonder, is it just me or do other women ignore the do not flush tampons rule?

We all would love to be able to just flush out tampoons, however, tampoons can seriously mess up your plumbing!

I had santary bags! But I found that they are expensive for what they are 100 bags for £1.50. Yet I can go to asda and get 350 baby nappy bags for 35p!! Work just the same I got mine in March and I'm still using the nappy bags

Been flushing them for years. Never once has it stopped up my plumbing.

Don't flush that stuff. Even if it says it's safe it's not. It clogs city pipes and creates some real budget trouble.

Get sanitary bags! They're little plastic bags that you tie up your tampon in. Because if you put them directly in the garbage they can smell pretty bad. We can't flush them where I live so we use those.

You can get tampons that you can flush. The brand u buy Kotex you can flush. It says on the packaging.

Garbage can  at home or residential houses but I'm guilty of flushing them at stores ....I mean I'm not leaving my bloody thing in public.... Lol
