Help, please! Really low blood sugar??
Does morning sickness cause low blood sugar? Is it harmful for the baby?
I have never had diabetes but was diagnosed with GD this pregnancy. Haven't had to change my diet or take any medication and my numbers have all been good.
Lately, most nights I have been feeling really nauseous which I put down to "morning" sickness. I go to sleep when I feel like that and feel fine the next morning.
Fri night I had Spaghetti for dinner, tested 2 hours later and my BGL was 3.3mmol(59.4mg/dL). I kept washing my hands, switching fingers and retesting and it dropped right down to 2.4mmol(43.2mg/dL). That's when I had some honey and called the nurse. It came back up to 3.5 (63.0) and I went to bed. Sat night, I tested 2 hours after dinner and it was 5.4(97.2). I started feeling sick 20 minutes later so I tested again and it had dropped down to 2.9(52.2), then I vomited and it came back up to 3.6. I checked again after that, it dropped again to 3.4 and I had some honey again and a banana and it came back up to 3.9(70.2), so I went to bed.
This morning I feel nauseous and have a headache but my fasting bgl was 4.2(75.6), which is fine.
I'm just really confused. Has anyone had this happen without having anything to do with diabetes previously?
I have called the midwives who told me to go to the Healthy Living clinic but they aren't open until tomorrow and I'm freaking out a little bit 😭😭
