Low-Ogestrel

I just started birth control a month ago. I’m on the second week, of my second pack now. During my “placebo” pills in my last pack, I had severe abdominal cramps. I’ve always had really bad period pains, almost like “labor pains” (or so I was told), so that’s why I’m on it actually. Is it normal for birth control to worsen your cramps while taking it for the first time? I don’t wanna change birth controls if it’s just because I need to adjust to it or anything.
