Did your breastfed baby naturally wean themselves?? If so what age??

My little one is 6 months EBF and refuses a bottle so I do and have done ALL of her feeds. I will be honest and say I only breastfed my baby because of the nutritional benefits (at first). I wasn't super excited to breastfeed. That said I actually enjoy breastfeeding now. It's a nice break in the day where both can snuggle in and just relax, its convenient and no extra bottkes to wash 🤷‍♀️. I'm a first time mom and while I enjoy it, I do want my body back. I didn't realize that you can't just stop breastfeeding. I guess I always thought you just take it away and transition baby onto formula (again first time mom) there is no way that I would ever want to deny my baby the comfort she gets from nursing. It makes her so happy she loves it and she would definitely have some feelings if we stopped. So I'm in it for the long haul. My question is will she eventually bo longer want to nurse? Or will she gradually nurse less and less?? I'm dedicated to at least a full year but I worry about not having my body back between babies as we want our second close in age. Hust curious what everyone's experiences were?

I wish I was able to be like some of the ladies saying their baby self wean but I'm 19 months in with no end in sight. My son eats 3 meals and still breastfeeds. Idk when hes going to stop or if I will have to force the issue.

At around 6 months when she realized food was a thing lol. I wasn’t too sad about it! I had my body back. She still took formula and juice and water in a cup

My daughter was exclusively breastfed like yours (would never take a bottle) she self weaned at around 10 months without me even noticing until I was dry. I really wanted to bf until at least her first birthday but once we introduced foods I guess she lost interest. She was still latching but using me as a pacifier instead and I didn’t even notice 🤦🏻‍♀️ slowly over the course of a month I dried up and she never tried to get them back once I took them away 🤷🏻‍♀️

My son is just starting to self-wean at 18 months. So I think it all just depends on the baby! I love breastfeeding and I don’t think he’ll be done anytime soon, but it already makes me sad! In regards to your body, I love what another commenter said in that your body just changed in the most badass way! 100% agree. Your LO will nurse less as solids increase, but obviously you both get to decide how long your nursing relationship lasts.

Obviously every baby is different, but my son who is 13 months old nurses only before and after sleep, and occasionally when he gets hurt or really upset or something for comfort. Right now that means he nurses 4-6 times a day depending on if he naps once or twice that day.

My son weaned himself at 8 months. But he was also getting bottles while I was at work.

My son did not, but we only breastfed for a year. I had to stop because I got a bad cold and was up for 4 nights coughing with a 12mo and about 11 weeks pregnant. I needed sleep and the only meds that helped dried up my milk. He still tried to nurse for a month but we cut it down to once a day or so for comfort. My friend's son naturally weened himself around 9 or 10 months, but she was pregnant also. 
I've seen a lot of BF related posts about women wanting their body back to themselves and I've personally never felt that so I'm no help there. After we started solids he didn't nurse as often, maybe 3 times a day, and I could leave him and go do things without pumping or needing to leave him milk.

My first naturally weaned at 18months, with the rare night nursing sessions til 2. 
Don't worry about getting your body back, because you never lost it. It only changed  in the most badass way. Yes, it can feel exhausting at times, but you only get a short time where they need you like this.

My second NEVER took a bottle.  By 14 months she took a sippy, by 18 months she was only breastfeeding in the morning and before bed. And by 25 months she weaned herself completely.
