Baby gagging on phlegm
My 14 week old was very fussy yesterday, cried for 4 hours, started with a stuffy nose overnight, and today she’s spit up several entire feedings because it seems like she’s trying to clear phlegm or breath in through her nose and ends up choking on it and then spits up.
There is nothing running out of her nose, and has a dry cough, no fever. Scared to lay her down and have her spitting up, or difficulty breathing, also don’t want her to stop breastfeeding and become dehydrated. She is EBF, still trying to eat every 2-3 hours. Diapers have been less wet but not completely dry and has had several poops. Have done a warm bath and steam, nasal saline, humidifier, sitting upright for feedings and after.
Not sure what to do to help her. Will call pediatrician in the morning to see what they recommend. But with so much flu and RSV going around I’d rather not bring her into the office or hospital unless very necessary.
