Can i ovulate while still on my period?

Ok so this has been the first official period that i had since having one the beginning of October the (4th-6th). I didn’t get on in September and i got a light spotty 5 day period from December 3-7. Now i started my recent period January 7th and I’m currently still on it. Which i don’t know why this is lasting for so long. 
But i am also trying to conceive and i have this app (glow) that says I’m supposed to ovulate tomorrow and my other app AVA says i started today with High fertility and my peak days are supposed to be 23,24 and Ovulation day the 25th. 
So I’m confused if i will even ovulate due to still being on this period. Is it still possible or do i count 12-14 days after i end this period to be around my ovulation time?

Prolonged bleeding should always be evaluated by your doctor. You can’t ovulate during menstruation, but what you’re experiencing could be something different. I’d see your doctor. Good luck to you.

You won’t ovulate during a period and the app is only predicting your cycles based on a perfect 28 day cycle. You ovulate on average 14 days before your period, not after. So the only way to get a heads up before you ovulate is by using ovulation tests.
