Undescended testicle

My 7 week old has an undescended testicle. He was examined by a pediatric surgeon who thinks it’s either just a testicle on the small side or it’s in his abdomen. Anyone else experience this? Did it fix on their own or did you have to get surgery?

They gave my baby boy 6 months to see if it would come down naturally. It didn’t. They said waiting too long could mean the testicle would overheat, causing fertility/cancer issues in the future. He’s now 13 months and is almost 2 weeks post-op from a successful surgery. The incisions are super tiny, and the stitches are dissolvable. It wasn’t too bad! The whole going under anesthesia can be scary though, best of luck to your family!! 🙌🏻💛

My son had it. A year went by and we went to have surgery to correct it.. Turns out he was born with only one.

We did! We actually got sent for a ultrasound; they seen the ball was in fact in the fact, just high up! It came down by itself around 3 months. My brother on the other hand; his ball was outside the sack so when he was one he had to get it moved down. Best of luck!

My baby boy has this he's 5 months.. when he was born they did an ultrasound on his scrotum, pediatrician said that if at 1 year the testicle hasn't dropped they can try to pull it down if they can't he will need surgery.
