Suggestions or tips unmedicated birth? Hypnobirthing?

Question

I am having my second baby and really do not want an epidural. Does anyone have any methods or suggestions to deal with contractions?
Someone suggested hypnobirthing, and I am reading a book on it. However some of it seems a little goofy. I'm going to finish reading it and give it a try, but I'm just not sure about it.
(I had a really bad experience the first time. It took 3 painful tries to get the epidural in. I had a bad reaction and was vomiting and felt terrible, and I broke my tailbone.)

Yes for sure look into hypnobirthing! I downloaded a bunch of podcasts to listen to in the weeks leading up to birth. It might seem silly but it’s really just the power of your thoughts - your body was made to do this! With my first, we barely made it to the hospital in time 😜 I just breathed through the contractions and let my body do what it was supposed to and honestly was not in much pain. 2 pushes letting my body do the work and not forcing it and she was born!

I really tried to focus on the education side of it. When does each stage start, how long does it typically last, what kinds of things do you experience in each stage. That way when I was in labor I knew what was happening with my body and why and I didn’t feel totally helpless wondering when it was going to end or how much more pain I had to go through. It helped SO much. I could identify when I hit active labor and when I finally hit the transition phase (which is THA WORST) I knew that we were winding down to the end. I also just kept that mantra “this pain has a purpose” and just focused on breathing my baby down through each contraction! I’ve heard a lot of success with hypnobirthing and I didn’t use it for myself but it seems like it helps you focus and get in your zone. Music, movement, support. I think those things really helped me deal with the pain! Also plan different pain relief techniques like essential oils (big help with my back labor), hot water (bath or shower), and different positions! Getting through an unmedicated birth is about mindset honestly, unless you’re having complications of course and you have to constantly be on top of your mindset toward the pain! Everyone hits a moment where they legitimately think they can’t take anymore and that’s usually right before the birth! Anywho, to get off my spiel I really recommend a birth class focused on med free birth and the birthing process!

My 2 previous births were without epidural. Didn’t use hypnotherapy though. Just soldiered on. Remember crying and screaming for the first birth, by the 2nd one I was just silent and bearing the pain, only thought on my mind my baby’s face at the end

I did an online birth course through mama natural and have watched a bunch of birth stories. 
I havent gone natural yer but I really want to this time. I'm also hoping I dont need to be induced again.

What book are you reading? I also want to go natural this time. I've heard to get through contractions, slow and deep breaths. Thats all i know haha
