How to get my 3 year old son to leave me alone ?

I love this kid. I do, but he gotta be doing something he shouldn’t be doing to be quiet and solo. Any other time, I gotta tell him to brush his teeth (that will buy me 20 minutes) or put him in the tub for about half an hour. Otherwise, he’s jumping in my bed while I’m doing my homework or holding my infant daughter. Netflix, Hulu and toys mean nothing to him. He’s constantly trying to get me to pick him up as well. All this started when Maranda came home from the NICU.

He's your child....love him, play with him.  If you need him to be occupied during your homework time then dont give him access to electronics all day. Then when it's your homework time let him have them and sit in bed with you. He'll he excited to have the electronics and will be close to you for comfort. He's 3, he's still a baby and needs your attention though.

Girl it’s exhausting but it’s totally normal and unfortunately it’s just a faze not much to be done about it 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ I just try to reassure mine that I’m here and they aren’t losing my attention, just sharing it. I usually can hug and kiss mine to death until he’s like oookay I think I’m gonna go get a puzzle 😅 and when that doesn’t work and he actually wants me to smother him, I know he just needed the hugs a little more that day and I gladly give them. Win win 💜😆

He just wants attention just like you give ur daughter attention. He feels like he being left out. U just have to talk to him and show him you have another baby to take care of. This is my biggest fear is my daughter to think I am giving all my attention to the new baby when she gets here. You have to show both kids the same amount of attention. Don’t show one child more attention then the other.

Have you tried doing a one on one with him with something he likes to do? Or maybe try to explain that what you’re doing is important and you’ll play with him when you’re done. He sounds a little jealous of baby coming home, my niece was like that when my son was born and is still like that some days now.

My 2.5 year old follows me into every room I go in including the bathrm😑 She wants me to pick her up just to walk to the kitchen😑 She has to be sitting on the counter while I prepare food😑 She doesn’t like when I take a shower and don’t let her take one with me😑 This child sleeps in our bed and I wake up with her on my back or in my face, and my azz if damn near off the bed😑 And she has a room of her own, decked out with all the stuff a kid could ever want😑 If her dad didn’t cut the damn umbilical cord when I had her, you would think I was still pregnant with her😑 But that’s my little shadow and I live her to pieces😌

You have a beautiful family 😊 I would try to set a time everyday where it’s just you and him so he gets one on one attention. I totally get it, my daughter is almost 6 and has always needed to be the center of attention even before her baby brother was born.

Sounds like he may just be a bit jealous. This is a bit different but I work with two year olds and they can be like this too when we get new kids in so it’s probably just a phase

My 3 year old sister has been doing the same thing to almost the whole family since my daughter came home from the hospital. She's starting to lighten up and be more helpful than whiney though
