Advised Not to have children.
A little about me, I'm 28 and have been married to my wonderful husband for 5 years. We had decided to wait until next year to start TTC, until yesterday. Yesterday while at my Gyn's office for my annual exam we were discussing future plans of TTC and due to my history of 1 blood clot and my significant family history of them she advised me that if I were her sister or best friend she would tell me not to have a child. She basically laid it out that, as I already know, medicine is not an exact science or cure all meaning if I did choose to try to have a child I'd need to be willing to risk my life, the life of my potential child, or both. She stated that there are many ways to become a parent that do not involve having a baby.
As with all things everything could work out and go perfectly even having to be on blood thinner injections the entire pregnancy and 6 weeks post-partum. I'm wondering if there are any women here that have had this same clotting risk and what they have done.
