Fever confusion

My 9wk old has his shots yesterday around 11a and later that evening spiked a fever....100 degrees....so we gave him Tylenol (as per docs instructions) and was still high 4hrs later so we gave a second dose. I gave him a third dose this morning as it was almost 100 still and now while the Tylenol is in his system his forehead temp and ear temps are showing 97.7 and 98.0, but his body still feels hot. Top of his head, hands & torso. Why??

I'm hoping he evens out after the Tylenol wears off otherwise the paperwork says to call if the fever stays for more than 24hrs. 😞
