SAHM’s what are you doing daily with your babies? 8mo going on 9 next month

I’m running out of ideas. But I want to help her development and brain but I feel so bored lol and she doesn’t do much self play. She’s super clingy to me. I don’t have time to do any chores because she always crawls to me and cries at my feet but she cries when she’s in a carrier.

I’m not a SAHM but I don’t go back to work until April (got a year maternity) so I’ve needed to get us into a routine. When she was about 4-5 months I collected info on all of the local baby groups and spent 2 weeks trialling them; then decided on the ones I liked. We now have a baby group every day of the week that we go to (unless we have other plans). Once we’d been going to them for a while, we started making friends with other mums and their babies so sometimes instead of a baby group we meet up to go on a walk or to soft play / for lunch. 
So here’s some typical things you could do or try:
- baby and toddler groups
- meeting friends
- meeting family
- soft play
- going on a walk
- doing a course (baby massage, baby yoga etc)
- swimming
- taking baby to an aquarium (the fish tanks are amazing!) 
I’ve tried to get into a routine where we leave the house at least once a day, else we both go stir crazy. The chores often get done while she’s napping, or while she’s playing in her play pen at home for 10-15 mins at a time (think because she doesn’t stay at home as much it’s a novelty so she doesn’t need me)

It’s freezing here so we can’t really do outside activities. We only have one vehicle for the time being so unless my mom comes and gets us or something, we stay at home all week while dad works. We play with toys, do floor time (she’s not crawling yet, just scooting around with arms and legs and rolling to get where she need to go lol), I let her watch Mickey Mouse or baby learning shows for a few minutes while I do dishes and some other cleaning and get food ready, she plays in her jumper or walker for a few minutes, we read, I sound out words and letters to her and we play with her developmental toys, play in water with bath toys, and she sits in her high chair and plays with toys. I plan to go get some non-toxic safe paint and some canvases this weekend to do some painting with her as another activity. She loves to mess in the paint lol. When her dad gets home sometimes we go get groceries or the mall/target/walmart just to get out of the house. We run out of things to do too and I want to make sure she’s getting enough interaction, learning, and not just doing the same stuff everyday.

We go to the park, play in different rooms of the house, practice walking while holding my hands, she plays with kitchen things while I do dishes, play outside (Texas...it’s not cold), go to the zoo, go to the mall, long walks...etc.

Im not a SAHM but am home until the end of April (year maternity leave) and live in canada so its often cold.. but i have a list of all the local mommy and me groups that happen during the week (our favorite is mondays at the libary) and also i know when public swiming is for $2 at the rec-center giving us a couple activities each week. We try to do the libary every week (although last and this monday we will skip as we are sick 😷) but i also take her for a walk with our dog as long as it isnt colder than -10c out.. we go to the grocery store (sometimes just to walk around),visit family or invite family over.. 
But some stay at home activities include:
Painiting on a canvas, floor time, jolly jumper, we dance to some music.. and just random stuff during the day.. my little doesnt crawl yet.. and is very attached to me but i usually can get a couple hours in a day to clean weather it be during nap or while shes independently playing
 Im also starting her one once a week going with my parents for the day.. and her other grandparents too so shes learning i dont have to be with her.

Not a SAHM but my days when I’m home are: 
7 am wake, bottle breakfast, play, clean, dress 
8:30 nap 
10:30 wake bottle play bounce floor time 
12 nap
1:30 wake bottle lunch play floor time 
3 pm nap
4:30 wake dinner bottle play
6 bath bottle
6:30 asleep 
There’s no time to do anything with the 3 naps!

6-6:30 am wake up. Play time with daddy, I usually snooze a bit in that time.
7:30-8:30 change diaper, play with me.
8:30 nap- veeeery variable, anywhere between 45-90 min.
So anytime 9:15-10:00 wake up, have breakfast, change for the day, and either leave for playgroup (once-twice a week) or stay at home and do chores together (cooking, cleaning).
12:30 nap (also variable), can be at home or in the carrier while I walk. In the afternoon we go shopping for food or for some coffee in my fave coffehouse, about  once a week I meet a friend with a baby, another once per week I meet my childless friends. Sometimes we just go for a hike in the woods or a walk in the park. Once in a while we pick my husband from work and walk home (its a 30 min walk). We get home around 5, I cook dinner while she stays with my husband and we all eat. She has some more playtime with daddy and at 6:30 we start to unwind for the day- the three of us (sometimes just me and her- my husband sometimes travels for work). We do change of diaper, pyjama, story, breast, then a bit of independent play/relax and she is nursed to sleep most nights (sometimes we practice no boob, just holding tight). Bedtime is between 7-7:30.

It’s cold as hell where I live so we’re stuck indoors. I’ll play disney music and carry my son around the house dancing and singing, he LOVES it, I’ll read to him, play with his learning toys and try to teach him numbers and animal sounds. He’ll watch Daniel tigers neighborhood while I get a couple things done. He loves being chased around the house too so we play that for a bit

So I’m not a full time SAHM (I work 4:00am-9:00am twice a week, Saturday’s 8:30-4:50), but I’m home more than I’m not and my son is SO GOOD with self play. He loves playing with his toys and hates when mom plays with him. But he loves just looking over and seeing me watching him and having conversations. 
When he does get bored, I help him walk up and down the hallway, sometimes we go outside and swing if it’s not too cold (still no ground snow outside). Every once in a while we’ll do an activity, like play dough, paints, bubbles. 
When I need to do laundry or other household chores he comes down and plays in his walker. He doesn’t like being left in a room alone, despite not liking when others play with him.

We play in the jumper, stand up in her exersaucer, swing in her swing for a bit, read books. I clean when she naps or sits in her pack n play with some toys. We have a YMCA membership with up two hours a day of childcare. We go about 5-6 days a week so I can work out. She gets to play with other babies at the nursery. The lady there loves my daughter and is teaching her Spanish. We also attend MOPS (Mother’s of Preschoolers) every other Monday and have made a lot of Mommy friends there. On Tuesday’s we attend a watercolor class and we go to church as a family on Sunday.

We only have one car so I can’t take her places except on the weekends . My daughter enjoys playing with her toys so I let her do that for an hour or two each day (different times throughout the of the day) . I let her crawl around the house as much a possible, when I do chores I allow her to “help me”. I sing and we dance , I let her pull up on things, I talk with her a lot and I allow her tv time like twice a week, she loves baby shark.
