Can you use pacis while breastfeeding?

Question

Just curious I plan on breastfeeding from the hospital but does that mean I can’t give her a pacifier to use too? I was hoping I could do both but some say if you breastfeeding you can’t give them a pacifier because they won’t latch on you. 
I bought a Bibs one.

It definitely depends on the child. My son never took a pacifier. He'd suck on it for a minute or 2 and then spit it out and wouldn't take it back. In terms of breastfeeding, if she's having trouble latching they suggest not to use one. But if everything's going fine with breastfeeding it's usually okay.

That's a myth, you definitely can. It's not that baby will get confused as they say its that you may miss hunger cues early on.

I started using a pacifier around 4 weeks (I tried earlier, but he didn't like the kind I had), my baby is ebf and has had no issues latching. He's 5 months old and still wants to use me as a pacifier 😅

My little boy is EBF and he has taken a paci since his first night in the hospital. Nipple confusion is a real thing but not something you should be too worried about.

I got told not to give one for the first 4 weeks as there won’t know the difference but after you can but all depends on you

It depends my daughter was bottle fed loved a pacifier. My son is 3 weeks exclusively breastfed and will only use a pacifier when I put him in the car seat to leave the house on when I stick him in the wrap when going to get my daughter from the bus stop. Other than that he won’t take the pacifier and will just stick to my boob

Every baby is different I’m sure but I’m exclusively breastfeeding 5 months now. We use 3 different types of pacifiers & she still latches on no problem

I bf for over a year and gave my son a pacifier from day 1. No issues. He went from boob to pacifier and nipple shields at the start.

We used a pacifier from day one. Breast fed with no problems associated from a pacifier. Had a little problem with a good position on one side but we figured out almost a year later it was due to an upper lip tie.

With my first she used pacifier asap and my second the nurse gave my baby one while she gave her her first bath and did not have an issue with either of them breastfeeding
