If you get pregnant on birth control, does that mean that type doesn’t work for you?

Say someone gets pregnant using a certain birth control pill. They use it perfectly but still get pregnant. Does that mean that pill just doesn’t work for them, or it was a fluke? Would the effectiveness rate still be the same for them if they decided to use it again?

1 in 100 women can still get pregnant on birth control. There's also many factors that can make it fail, for example gaining or losing a lot of weight, certain meds you take, and how "perfectly " it's taken. It doesn't mean it doesn't work for that person it could have just been the odds, but there's always switching to a double hormonal bc or a single hormone one. Talking to the doctor is the only way you'll know.

I would say it would depend. Like if they took it perfectly but we’re sick, vomited, had diarrhoea, or were on medication like antibiotics then that might have affected the efficacy of the pill. But if they took it normally and none of the above then I would say it might not be an effective form of birth control for them.
