Advice?

So I’m 17 years old, I just started working, and there’s a man at my job who is also an employee but he makes me uncomfortable to the point where I feel nervous coming into work on my scheduled days. He looks like he’s in his early 30’s. Every time he sees me he’ll greet me with “Hi beautiful”, I didn’t think much of it. Another day, he asked me my age, I told him 17 and then he asked me when I’d be turning 18. Then he proceeded to tell me how cute I was and stuff. That was the first red flag for me. The other night when my manager wasn’t around he asked me if I was single and I really felt unsafe and uncomfortable. Am I looking too far into it or what should I do? I’m always trying to avoid him at work but he always find a way to talk to me and I hate it. I don’t wanna tell my parents or the manager yet because it might cause a lot of drama that I don’t want. I just want him to leave me alone though.

If you’re uncomfortable it’s not okay hun! I’m a waitress and get this a lot. When I was 16 I had an older man do this. He’d say I was beautiful and ask really personal questions. I let it go and it progressed to him coming every night, messaging me inappropriate stuff, thinking I was his girlfriend, getting mad if I ignored him and then finally stalking me and trying to rape me! Always go with your gut. Tell your parents and maybe ask your manager if they can make sure you guys don’t have shifts together. Stay safe girl

I’m sorry! That sucks! But your safety is a priority, and he’s harassing you. It isn’t making drama to report him, it just needs to happen. Also, if you tell people it could help to make sure that he doesn’t bother other women and girls in the same way.

He actually has been reported by another female employee for his behavior, so I’ve decided to speak to my manager about it now.

This happened to me at my old job. I was 16, the guy was 30+. He would compliment my ass in front of the managers and they didn't even care. It was weird asf
