Staying in 1 Br apt.?

Question

So baby is due in May and our lease is up in January. Our bedroom is a good size with a walk in closet so part of me wants to stay to save money but then I think we might need more space. Also we have no downstaird neighbors which we won't find anywhere else! Help!!!

Stay there and save your money and energy. It's not even worth having a separate room until the baby gets older bc you probably wouldn't want to leave your baby in there anyway. My daughter is 1 and she barely slept in her crib in her room. She either slept in bed with me bc it was easier with breastfeeding or she slept in her pack n play that I kept in my room.

When baby is so young you can really make it work with one bedroom and very little stuff. I vote for one bedroom. And when baby is brand new and squishy you'll want to be close. After all, you carried her for 9 months, it feels kinda weird if she's too far away. 
We had 4 bedrooms and all lived out of one room, still do! 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 toddlers, lol. They all want to be on top of you and you never get to go to the bathroom alone anymore, lol. 
I'm a minimalist and we made it work. Sink for bath time, babywearing instead of stroller, breastfeeding instead of bottles, floor or bed instead of changing table, etc.

Stay as long as you can! We have a 1 bedroom with a toddler. We converted the dining area to a bedroom for the toddler and eventually the new baby will sleep with him. You can definitely make it work. Beats spending 3 times as much to have a slightly bigger place.

And don't listen to the people who say, oh you can't stay there, or when are you going to get a bigger place? It's like they just assume you have a ton of extra cash lying around!

My husband and I are gonna stay in our one bedroom. And our apt isn't big at all but I think we can make it work. Plus we have cheap rent! We are gonna have a dresser in the living room and a pack n play for the baby to sleep in in our bedroom.

I think that's a personal preference thing. If you don't mind being very crowded, then there you go. But something to consider is all the extra stuff that you need with a baby: pack and play, stroller, changing station, a dresser to store clothes, books, toys, etc. I'm sure it's possible to be super minimalistic, but it'll still be crowded.

I don't know... If you can afford a two-bedroom, it might be worth it to preserve your sanity. Lol.

I have a two bedroom now. My lease is up in March.  I was thinking to save money a one bedroom would be just fine for the baby's first year. But I want a nursery soo it's not going to do lol.

lol my parents had me in a walk in closet for a room until I was 3. It was a big one, fit a toddler bed and some toys. Most of my stuff was in the living room always lol if you can make it work stay! There's nothing wrong with that :)

that's what we did with my first it's easier not as much to clean I mean not a lot of room to put stuff but do whatever you feel comfortable

It's up to you; I would likely keep the cheaper rent while baby is so small still and doesn't need as much. Truly all baby needs is a place to sleep, get changed, somewhere for clothes and parents to love on him/her.

Historically nurseries weren't commonplace and families all lived in one bedroom. Just food for thought!
